This
past weekend Joebob, the head brewer at Brew Practitioners in Florence
Massachusetts, was able to do what many home brewers dream of. He was able to
brew Barrels at a time instead of gallons at a time (yes, I know, a Barrel is 31
gallons ). What an experience. A little bit nerve racking brewing so much more
beer at a time but in many ways, it is a
bit easier because the equipment is so much better. Pumps to move the water and
the sweet wort, spray balls to assist in cleaning and a fancy control panel to
ensure all temperatures are spot on. But probably the biggest difference that
Joebob has noticed is the actual size of the equipment and how much easier
things flow through a 1 ½ inch hose or pipe. Things move faster, things don’t get
stuck, and your wort goes where you want it to when you want it to and at the
correct temperature.
Head
Brewer Joebob wanted to make sure to document this experience and not lose
sight of a 12 year dream that has come true!!
Now, let get that beer fermented and into kegs so you all can come by
and taste our “Labor of love”!
